CBJ deal Forsberg

Columbus, Oh cajn In a move to plan for the future, the Blue Jackets have traded away Peter Forsberg. GM Colston has confirmed that Forsberg will be heading to the Minnesota North Stars. In return, the Jackets have acquired RW Joffrey Lupul, D-man Colby Robak and 5 TC's PHL11.

RW Rob Globke was also included in the deal for the Stars. Not a bad move for GM Colston as the Trade Deadline nears. The Jackets get a couple of younger guys to help mold the future.

Will GM Colston keep these guys, or will he be looking to trade for up coming Draft picks. My guess is Lupul will never wear the Columbus jersey. Stay tuned for further updates.

SpeFirth Breaks Out

ST.LOUIS - Medicine Hat Tigers HOF center Jason Firth finally had a huge break out as he potted 5 goals along with 1 helper with a +6 rating in the game against the Express. Adding in a single helper in the 2nd game and Firth takes (53 points) over the farm scoring lead from the Gamblers John Hennessy (52 points) with 2 games in hand. The last Tiger to lead the scoring race was fellow center Johan Nilson before going down with a lower body injury that kept him out for 9 games and dropping out of the scoring race temporarily. Nilson has managed to climb back in the race scoring 45 points, 2 points back of linemate Kyle Decoste (49 pts). Not too far behind is defensemen Kim Johnsson also with 45 points and leading all defensemen in scoring.

North Stars fire coach

Arriving at the midpoint of the season the Stars are not happy with their teams attitude. Terry O'Reilly has been let go half way through this season after winning the PHL cup last year. This move has sent a shock wave rippling through the locker room. Several players were not happy with this move while ofcourse were elated. Our new coach shall be John Tortorella who says he will whip these schlubs into shape or die trying. Will there be more moves in the future for this team? No doubt

Seals Snipers Setting the Scoring Pace

The Oakland Seals and Gamblers are thrilled with the play of their best players. The goalies throughout the league are not. Sophmore Evgeny Grachev leads the pro circut in scoring, while minor league counterpart Josh Hennesey has built on his spectacular post season of a year ago, to lead the minor league in scoring. With trade offers coming in for both players through the early part of the season, the answer so far has been a resounding 'NO". The Seals look forward to this one-two punch for next season and the seasons to come.
