Blues Press Release

ST.LOUIS - The season is 2/3 over and the Blues have now pulled within 3 other teams in the fight for last place, the Blue Jackets, Rangers and Islanders (boy hate to be a New Yorker). 3 things have been determined:

1) The Blues will be sellers, not that they have much to sell as the best players that will help the team going forward will be staying put, how few of those we have. The names will stay unlisted in hopes that other GM's will start some dialogue if they want anything. Rumor has it though that Khabibulin has been dealt.

2) The Blues may make the playoffs. Who expected to read that a month ago. True the Bluejackets do have a few games on the Blues, but the Blues have been playing some decent hockey, not great, not good, but decent. At least enough to make a run for a spot considering they were left for dead. Winning is better than losing.

3) The Fall for Hall continues....oh wait this is the PHL and Hall isn't in this draft is he?

Oil Kings Press Release

GM Brent went out late last night and contacted a fellow gm about a possible deal. In the deal GM Brent acquired a farm rw which they needed very badly on the farm. Danny Bois he is hoping can come in and light it up for the team and actually not allow the team to get destroyed all the time. In the deal we seen Goalie Taylor Dakers and RW Dustin Brown leaving and welcoming Goalie Dan Lacosta and RW Danny Bois and a 2nd round draft pick in this years draft. With Dakers leaving it solidified that steve mason will be going in net for the remainder of the season. In dakers last 2 games with the team he won his first game and tied the second game to leave on a good note. We wish him luck in his new hometown. Jordan Eberle and Brad Boyes since being acquired have been on fire. Pietroangelo also has been unloading passes perfectly right to all his wingers and centers sticks for them to tap the goals in. Matt Belesky continues to shine since he was put on the top line of this team. The only player that has declined since the Eberle deal is vladmir sbotka he hasnt been scoring at all lately. Will he turn it arnd to finish the season? only time will tell

American Trade Block

The PHL9 season has reached a perplexing point for the American. TRADE DEADLINE. What to do! What to do! Which fork in the road does Brooklyn take? Turn right and, "Damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead", our future is now? We need an impact center and a shut down blue liner. Left turn and, "Rome wasn't built in a day", our future lays a few seasons ahead? Continue to improve through farm rerates, T.C.'s, draft picks etc.
Yes the Americans sit atop their division. Yes the Americans have been on a huge roll as of late. Yet the numbers inside the numbers tell a different story. At even strength, Brooklyn plays a team orientated, defensive and offensive system that allows all three lines to contribute. Power play and penalty killing are mediocre at best. The Americans play very solid hockey at home, but are abysmal on the road. The majority of Brooklyn's remaining games are away from Ebbits Memorial Field. Finally, the Americans have a past history of playing poorly in inter divisional games. Again, the majority of Brooklyn's remaining games fall into this category.
Direction needs to be identified and decisions have have to be made. Quickly!!

Blackhawks Press Release

The blackhawks continue to play very well and still trail those leafs by a few points. Its looking as the leafs will be taking 1st place overall in the league this season and with the blackhawks possibly taking second place no gurantees. Since the goalie change in net the team hasnt played the same. Fernandez definitely played better in net than varlamov but we need him to get back into his game he had before going to the bench.

In the farm we see the oil kings not being able to win with a top notch goalie in net or not. This team hasnt won a game in a long time. They actually almost won a game in the last game day but came out with a tie which does get them one point. As the farm season comes to an end the oil kings are barely holding onto a playoff spot. This team maybe needs a shake?? or will there be many more farmers dealt this season.

On the Blackhawks trade block is the following players for the trade deadline:

Decisions, Decisions

With the trade deadline fast approaching the Americans have some heady decisions to make. In past seasons the Americans have been sellers in a buyers market; and rightly so. Early expectations in PHL 9 had Brooklyn management adhering to this thought process. Now, at this point in the season, the Americans find themselves in uncharted waters. After their usual sub .500 start to the season, the Americans fought their way to respectability and found themselves at the .500 level by the New Years. Since, the Americans have played .800 plus hockey, have climbed to first in their division, moved to eighth overall in the league and have jumped 9 spots in the power poll rankings. As I said pretty heady stuff.
Management face many questions. Are the Americans really this good or are they playing over their heads? What direction do the Americans take? Do the Americans sell at the trade deadline and continually improve for the future? Does Brooklyn mortgage the future and go with a win now philosophy? Or will a combination of the two train of thoughts present itself, could the Americans be buyers and sellers at the same time?
If the Americans are to be buyers, this reporters sees two possible scenarios. In order to improve, Brooklyn is in need of an elite, dominant, play making center. They could also use a skilled, shut down defensive blueliner. An upgrade at both positions would improve the American chances at getting out of their division. After that would the improvements be enough to compete for the Eastern Conference let alone league championship? Only time will tell.

MATTHEWS PREDICTS

Flyers GM, Jazz Matthews has a bold prediction. "You know that Slug Mac guy? Quick to nail a body, any dead body", Matthews said with a wry grin. "Anyway, looking over or reaming schedule, I think the tough games are behind us. Sure we have a couple against the Habs, but basically, not too tough a road and going into the playoffs we get the Isles for four straight. I'm picking us for about 97 points. Not great compared to last season, but it should be good for between third and fifth......and I'm happy with that. We are looking to the playoffs, to the point we may rest some guys when Long Island comes to visit".

Love him or hate him, Dougie Slack.......you're turn.

Bubba Davis, Philadelphia Enquirer

Whalers PR

Well our predictions took another hit with the loss to the Sabres last night. The one good thing about the game was that the boys played hard and lost it in an overtime battle. The results definately would have been different if our number one goalie, Miller, was in. Next time they won't be so lucky!!
The proper changes are now being made and the rest of the Adam's should be afraid, BE VERY AFRAID, MUHAHAHAHA.

Leafs bring a champion back into the fold

We wanted to reassure our fans that the recent aquisition of the unretired and soon to be re-retired Chris McAllister was not done while high or under gunpoint or sympathy for the Northstars, though we cannot deny that we might have been partaking in John's private reserve stash when the deal was made.

So how do we reassure you all? How about this...PMHL 7 cup winners your own MAJORS!. Who lead the team in goals???

13 Chris McAllister L LW 8 6 9 2 5 2 6 3 9 9 6 65
F 13 Chris McAllister     80  39  19   58

He also has a cup ring from the PHL champs in PHL 6. Not bad, 2 cup rings in back to back years in both leagues.
Chris had this to say about being lured back to Toronto. "well the Sabres gm found a loophole that got us back into the league, but i sure as hell wasnt going to play for the Colts or Lokomonster. I would have just rather stayed retired. "

You all can stop your bitchin now and send your thank you letters to Edwin. If you send them to John, wouldnt hurt to toss in a special cigarette in there as well for him.

Katherine Humphries

Whalers PR

Well the Whalers haven't been very busy lately and that is because we are happy with what we have assembled. We have a good, not great, undefeated streak happening and this is with our backup goalie and not Miller. Mr. Miller should be nice and rested for a run at and into the playoff, yes I said playoffs.
The only disappointment this season would not be making the playoffs. If this was to happen it would be CATASTROPHIC!!!!
The final bit of news is the Whalers are looking to move one or two of their 2nd round picks in phl10 for a first rounder. Any deals could involve a minor league player or even a pro swap. This would the last move in the master plan, MUHAHAHAHA.
No seriously, my trash talking days are relaxed for now and we as a team are focusing on the playoffs for this year in the PHL and the PMHL. We are looking forward to our first draft under the new regime.
Good luck to all in the stretch (not too much luck for the Adam's division teams).

Oil Kings Press Release

The Oil Kings came into tonights games needing a few wins. They began the night losing 6-3 but Jordan Eberle and Brad Boyes finally picked up a few points. Boyes scoring goals and Eberle assisting on them. Taylor Dakers looked like shit in net all night long in this loss. We then went on to loose once again tonight against rival Spirits. With Brendan Morrison getting a few points against his old team which seemed to put the oil kings out of this game. Even though Ryan Hillier did score his first goal it just wasnt enough when Dakers couldnt stop a dam shot shot his way. Since he was pulled he has not been the same goalie. Will we see Steve Mason in net very soon when there is the right number of games left. The oil kings sitting 2 games above .500 now. Will they eventually fall below and possibly out of play-offs? We will all have to wait and see how the team continues to play. In their last 10 games the team has went 2-8 which is not good yes Mike Smith was in net until he was dealt and Kevin Weekes played one game and allowed 7 goals and was pulled instantly. Can the goaltending fire back up for the oil kings and keep them alive? stay tuned

Power Poll

Jets follow up a losing streak plagued by injuries with a seven game winning streak over some of the top teams (Canadiens, Nordiques) and you're concerned they may be starting another losing streak with a 1-0 loss to the Canucks? How can anyone put any stock in judgement of this kind? Take off that thinking cap before it does more damage........it's obviously several sizes too small.

Blackhawks Press Release

The blackhawks played two games tonight and went 1-1-0. In the two games played tonight Eric Staal picked up 4 well needed assists and Nokelainen picked up one more assist to put him at 42 assists on the year. He hasnt slowed down at all this season still leading the team in points. Manny Fernandez played very well in the first game but fell apart in the second so finally GM Brent has decided to pull him and put starting goaltender back in net. In the farm we seen Kevin weekes first game with the oil kings. We lost the game which we were expecting to do with a shit goalie like him in net but we kept it close in the high scoring game. The Oil Kings are looking for a decent farm rw. If anyone has one available please let me know.

Smack Talk......

I Am The Greatest! - Self Promoting Smack
Talking yourself up is a classic smack talk technique. Hey, if you don't believe your team will dominate the league and win the championship, no one else will either. Most people talk a good game before the draft but some turn it into an art form throughout the season. There's a guy in one of my leagues who's a pro at this. He consistently hypes his team and abilities all season long. Nearly every post he makes mentions that his team will win the championship, that he'll give everyone a lesson in fantasy football, that he'll teach us how to evaluate players and make trades. The frustrating part is that he almost always gets to the championship.

Rude, Crude and Obscene
This is one of the easiest and most common smack talk styles. Why? All you have to do is let loose with some name calling and foul language. You've probably been doing it since 3rd grade.Telling the target where they can go, how to get there and what will be done to certain body parts along the way is a popular tactic. It may also include a few descriptive words about family lineage and/or ethnic background.Every fantasy league has its own personality and not all leagues appreciate cursing on their message boards. Know your league before dropping f-bombs.
Stat Based Smack
Working fantasy stats into your smack is an easy way to show your opponent how much they suck. The numbers don't lie so you already have an advantage. Of course, only use the stats that make your team look good and your opponent look like junk. Here are a few stats you can use...
Win-Loss Record - If your opponent this week is 0-5, this is almost too easy. As long as you have a better record, you can use this.
Fantasy Points - There are a few ways to work fantasy points into your smack:* Compare overall total scores* Look at the weekly points for each team and point out how many times you would have won against your opponent if you had played each other every week.* Project how many weeks you can afford to take off and still have more fantasy points at the end of the season.
Individual Player Stats - Compare your players' best stats against your opponent's players' worst stats. This may take more time to do right, depends on how closely you follow player stats.
Historical Fantasy Season Matchups - Reminding the league that you have an 8-2 record against your opponent over the last 5 years is great smack. Tell the world you own him.
Educational and Informative
Belittle your opponents by offering them an "education" or "helpful advice" in fantasy football or whatever fantasy sport you're playing. This is easiest when the target has just screwed up or made a questionable move or trade. Simply explain to them the basics of why dropping their backup QB to cover a kicker's bye was a bad idea.If they get upset or try to retaliate, offer to use smaller words next time.

Challenge Your Opponent's Manhood
Anything that tells the target they can't hang with the fantasy big dogs fits here. A common tactic is to state that your little sister, mother, grandmother or senile old aunt knows more about sports and can play fantasy football better.Another variation is to suggest they would be better off with a more suitable hobby like knitting, bingo, tea parties or maybe a book club.

Easy Smack Talk Targets
Obviously you'll want to trash talk your next opponent. Here are some other potential targets to work your smack magic on and maybe gain a little league respect at the same time.
Whiners & Complainers - These are the guys who constantly gripe about their players or a league rule or anything else they can think to complain about. Show everyone you care and offer to call the 'Waaahmbulance' for him.
Under Performers - This includes any team that is not living up to expectations. Losing teams who had a top 3 draft pick or a team that only scored half their projected points falls into this category.
Teams Who Don't Learn - Everyone makes mistakes, but if a team makes a habit out of starting bye players, picking up worthless players, making bad sit/start decisions, pitching lame trade offers...then it's time to lay down the smack.
League Loudmouth - Is there a guy in your league with a bad case of diarrhea of the mouth? He's now your target for a full smack talk assault. Take every stupid post he's made and tear it apart.

Work Related Smack
A lot of fantasy leagues are work leagues. If you're in a work league you can add office rivalry to your smack talk arsenal. Here are a few examples to get started:"How come the IT guys have time to send out 50 lame trade offers a day but it takes them a month to fix a PC?""If the sales guys would sell stuff instead of checking their fantasy roster all day, this company might turn a profit.""Wow, those accounting guys and their fantasy stats spreadsheets are pretty impressive...too bad they forgot a column for bye week."

Smack Talk Tips
The best way to smack talk successfully is to have a winning record to back it up.
Your team name can be used as part of your smack. Customize it each week to send a message to your opponent.
Never take smack talk personally. Once the other guy knows he's gotten to you, he wins.
Be smart about trash talking a team that you want to make a trade with. Wait until after the trade is completed before telling the league what a fantasy moron the guy is.
Wear a smack talking fantasy hockey t-shirt to your draft and league events.
Have fun! Get creative with your smack talk.

Blackhawks Press Release

The Oil Kings went in to last nights games with a team that had many players in the line-up that are not in there anymore. They somehow managed to pick up a win with Mike Smith in net. That win came against division rival Spirit, which GM Brent had made a deal with the day before acquiring a new top line from them. They went into the second game on a high but ended up loosing it. Cal O'Reilly had a nice last two games with us and hope him the best playing for the Majors. Matt Belesky was promoted to top line about ten games ago and is showing why he should be playing there. He has been on fire playing with that line and we hope that he continues to play like he is. After last nights games we welcomed 4 new players to the roster. We welcomed star goalie Steve Mason, Star center Jordan Eberle, Brad Boyes, and Ryan Hillier. Along with these players we also acquired 2 tcs phl 9,1 tc phl 10, and 2 2nd round picks in this seasons draft. Now with all this going on will the Oil Kings start to struggle with the new players or continue to play very well. GM Brent has said that newly signed goaltender Kevin Weekes with an overall of 9, 1/1 goalie will be starting the rest of the season. Is there something going on in Hawkville. Two good starting goaltenders and he wont play either?

Oil Kings Press Release

Another big splash with this roster. Is anyone really ever safe on this team for a full season. GM Brent went out and acquired a well needed 9/9 goalie for his farm team again this season. Shipping out two very nice players though but thats the cost to acquire a goalie like Steve Mason. A very young talented goalie. I have heard GM Brent saying though that Mason will ride the bench until play-offs. Does GM Brent have something up his sleeve that he will not play him. Does he want him fresh for playoffs?? I guess no one will ever know until GM Brent is ready to tell everyone. But im sure this wont be the last deal made this season by him. Oil Kings back-up goalie Taylor Dakers is now available. Anyone need a 9/8 farm goalie contact me.

Blues bumming along....

ST.LOUIS - So the Blues continue their .500 hockey with a win and a loss. Strudwick scored his first 2 goals of the season after figuring out how to shoot and Jack Skille inserted for the first time ever got 3 pts in his first 2 games. In addition, the Blues have leaped out of the cellar (temporarily) leaving the Blue Jackets in last, who also have no GM to run it and are facing contraction at the end of the year. This is quite unfortunate of this once great team. Hopefully when the season ends, none of these players dissappear, kind of like Malmo Redhawks who claimed bankruptcy and had half their players dissappear. Speaking of which, one Martin Samuelsson, property of the Blues is nowhere to be seen or heard. If any has seen this man please call 1-800-IAM-BLUE or Crimestoppers at 422-TIPS.

Thanks.

Blackhawks Press Release

The blackhawks came in tonights games just a few points back of the Maple Leafs. We started off the night right with a 4-0 shutout. All four goals being scored in the third period lead us to victory with Manny Fernandez playing very sharp since he was put in net. We headed into the second game of night with one win under the belt already and managed to beat the canucks 3-1. Winning two games in one night is something we have done a few times this season. The worst part to the night was seeing the maple leafs blow out another team.

Before tonights games happened GM Brent was on the phone with detroits GM asking about a few players. Three very nice farmers and with the right rerates will be even better farmers next season. GM Brent sent off-season pick up Brendan Morrison, Taylor Pyatt, Dustin Penner and bufalos first rounder phl 10. All very nice farmers but not having the greatest season. The Oil kings are welcoming highly touted prospect Jordan Eberle,Ryan Hillier,Brad Boyes,2 round draft pick det phl 9 and a tc in phl 9 and 10. This deal looks good for both teams as it looked like all these players could use a different atmosphere to play in.

Will cal oreilly now be dealt??

Whalers PR

Well a Happy New Year to all our readers, this is Popar Azzi here with an interview with the Whalers captain, Marek Svatos.

Welcome Marek, and Happy New Year.

Thanks Popar and Happy New Year to you too.

Lets get down to business. What is going on with the Whalers?

I don't know what you mean?

Well you GM is trying to make deals like crazy and they don't seem to be all that great. I mean moving Green seems like a bone-headed deal, doesn't it.

No not really Popar, especially since he wasn't happy here obviously and good for him to be doing as well as he is with the Hawks. Schenner is fitting in great here and is a great young player that will come into his own.

What do you think of yourself almost being dealt.

I don't know what you are talking about.

Well Marek, I have it under good authority that you were mentioned in a deal with the Sabres to acquire Hemsky.

If our GM thinks that that is the right move for the team then I guess I would have to be moved. I really enjoy my time here and I see a great future with this club. I definately want to be a part of this going forward but I understand if Mr. Gagne wishes to make a move.

Do you anticipate any other moves in the near future?

Like I said Popar, if Mr. Gagne feels there is a need for a change he will definately try to get it done and whether its "good" or "bad" it will be a knoble attempt.

That sounds a bit like butt kissing Mr. Svatos.

No, not really, it's just how I feel.

Okay, well I guess we will all just wait and see. I hope you stay and the team starts to turn things around. The weirdest thing with this team is that they are in the top 10 teams in the conference and still may not make the playoffs due to finishing 5th in the division. Let's hope the Whalers go on a decent run soon. Thanks for your time Marek and like I said I hope we can do this again.

Thanks Popar and I hope we can keep on doing this for some time to come but you never know how things turn out. As far as the team is concerned I believe we will make the playoffs and go on a viscious run to the championships.

Well this is Popar Azzi signing off here from the Hartford Civic Center with Marek Svatos the captain of the Whalers, wishing you all a Happy New Year and hoping the Whalers can turn it around.

Jets Junk

Jets on a downward spiral for weeks have put on the air brakes just before hitting ground zero and come up with 4 wins in a row beating the Sabres, Seals , Canadiens, and Scouts. The "shake" has been avoided ..... for now.
With the return of Chartier from early retirement, and the return of goalie Grahame, the Bobcats find themselves with an excess of farm defensemen and goalies. Trading in these areas is definitely a possibility.

blackhawks press release

The Blackhawks welcomed Mark katic to the team late last night as his flight was delayed and was unsure if he would even be able to make tomorrow nights games because a big storm had hit St. Louis. As he finally landed in Hawkville all the fans and fellow players welcomed him to the team. GM Brent hopes that he continues to play as he is so far this season and will not slow down at all. GM Brent knows bringing him in will only allow the team to score that many more goals on their opponents and allow even less. Watch to see how Katic performs for his new team.

The Oil Kings welcomed Ryan Ellis, Cameron Gaunce, and Raffi Torres to the team. We are glad to see them here playing for us and in their first games with the team they didn't manage to put any points on the board. But the one thing that no one could understand was why is mike smith in net for the oil kings. GM Brent released a statement saying that he is tired of seeing taylor dakers play like shit so mike smith is going to be playing every single game from here on out. We will see how this affects the teams morale. Allowing that many more goals will they be able to even win a game for the rest of the season. Only time will tell how long mike smith actually is in net for. Everyone on the team is hoping after tonights lose to the aces that taylor dakers is back in net soon. What will GM Brent do??

In and Out....

ST.LOUIS - Just as quickly as he is settling into St.Louis, Eric Brewer is being shipped out to beantown. He and fellow defensemen Mark Popovic will be swapping places with Brent Seabrook along with draft picks swapped on both sides. Brent Seabrook gives them a younger more durable defensemen and the draft picks should help bring in some new assets which will still be a few seasons away especially in a draft that's anticipated to be a deep one. Does that mean he won't be dealt away in a future deal? Who knows. As of right now, the Blues will continuing looking towards the future and most likely be making more trades.

Good deal? Depends. Maybe for now it favors the Hawks, but in the end it may work out for the Blues. Perhaps its a deal a lot of GMs will say favor the Hawks and the Blues got the short end of the stick, although the Blues see otherwise. Could Brewer have been taken in the waiver draft. Possibly, but then again maybe not. The Blues can now concentrate on getting another strong defensemen or concentrate squarely on forwards.

Stranger things have happened in the PHL and this might be a worthwhile risk. The Blues can still rebuild as they still have a main core of defensemen down on the farm and kept intact their forwards as well as their picks and trainings camps. The Pro acquired a really good pro D that can help down the stretch, not to improve the team overall but maybe some of the players. The team has been playing .500 hockey as of late and beating some really good teams at that.

Anyways we felt generous to the Blackhawks, so we gave them a late Christmas present. Merry Christmas Brent. Hope my team doesn't sneak in and knock you guys out as that would be quite sad, even if your plan is to downgrade heading into the playoffs.

Blackhawks Press Release

The Blackhawks have finally found a new home for Eric Brewer well i guess its not really a new home because he is going back to the team that the blackhawks acquired him from. The blackhawks are receiving exactly what they wanted in return for him. The blackhawks sent eric brewer out along with project player jan hejda and nice defnsive dman casey borer. In return the hawks receive young defencemen mark katic along with prospect lw raffi torres and 2 prospect dmen in ryan ellis and cameron gauce. The blackhawks are happy to finally get a deal done for brewer. He has been being shopped for a long time and no team was willing to trade what the blackhawks thought he was worth until finally the blues came looking to upgrade there dmen. This deal might weaken the blackhawks defence not offensively but defensivley but it definitely strengthens the farm d a lot. Now GM Brent will have to find a place to play ellis and gauce on the farm. Look for a possible more deals to soon happen.

Me likey !

After a couple of trades that saw the North Stars team avg drop like 12 pts the team responded with wins. The shipping off of HOF Theo Fleury seems to have boosted team moral. This is particularly evident in a defense that has almost every member streaking on the + side since the deal. They must have especially hated Theo. The new guys are all playing well and contributing nicely with the team on a 9-1-0 run that began just previously to their arrival. Head coach Terry O'Reilly's job is now secure and this GM is looking forward to a strong finish to the season.

On a Lighter Note....

Chuck D Bich random thoughts.....

-Another PR issue with the PHL and one of its owner(s). No its not Boots Del Biaggio. No its not Jim Basillie although he sure would have an easier time getting into the PHL than the NHL for sure. Or maybe this was all in the plan of the commish in his goal to contract the league. Am I making sense? Probably not.

-Dougie Smac Attack Jack in the Box Mac or something like that. Someone tell him the PHL is a hockey league.

-Does anyone care that the Blues are playing .500 hockey. That is right, normally they lose back to backs, but they picked up a win in the 2nd game, against the Blue Jackets no less.........yup......figures........no one cares......

-Pro schedule has been updated with previous scores, trades, draft picks and training camps too. Farm schedule to be updated tomorrow when games are played......people probably care more about that.

-So its the Brooklyn Americans, not Rochester Americans. As I stated before, call them Rochester and they will hand it to you like they did to me....... Maybe I should say the Leafs are from St.Johns or the Tigers are from Medicine Hat.... Wonder what the score be then....

-The Blues .500 record coincided with a trade with the Rangers. Hey Geoff want to make another minor deal for the hell of it? LOL.....

-Congrats to the US Junior Team for beating the Canadians. I think our goaltending this year was sub par. Oh well, we will take it back from their home turf next year....

Ok I have nothing left to rant besides AIR CANADA SUCKS!!!! Anyone reading this.... prob not...... oh well..... boredom..... zzzzzzzzzzzz

I'm gone until!

Brooklyn Americans

It was The Brooklyn Americans. It currently is the Brooklyn Americans. It will always be the Brooklyn Americans. Sometimes we play like the AHL Rochester Americans but we are from Brooklyn. Just Dougie Mac smacking his lips once again. For dribble to come out.....dribble must be locked in. Scott.......Brooklyn Americans

CC IS BACK!!!!

Yes I am back from some R&R in rainy Vancouver. It definitely does make you suicidal when it rains every day of the week. Yes I do prefer the snow if it gives me the sun too, makes quite a difference, some of you may beg to differ. Anyways will try to get all things updated on the site in the next few days or so if not all tonight. A little tired as good ol Air Canada was delayed as usual with the addition of taking forever to load and unload luggage. So what did I miss?

-Warren going ballistic over his last name when I was referring to the Indianapolis Colts. Way to ruin it.

-The Blues decided to go 5-5-0 in the last 10 games and beating some decent teams in that streak. Yes to us in St.Louis its a streak. Also ends the chance to break the record set by the Rochester Americans (thanks for finding that George). Maybe I should take a longer vacation.

-For some reason I thought it was the Brooklyn Americans. That should be corrected, or maybe I am correct. Americans can you correct me so I can make the necessary corrections.

-The Tigers (my farm team) are slumping. Maybe its good that I am back.

-Brent has made a few trades, which is of no surprise. His poker face statement of "I ain't making trades" didn't last long.

-As usual, the Leafs are back at the top. One wonders why Steve is even allowed to state the term "rebuilding" ever.....

-If any of you missed the round robin game between the Canadian and US juniors, WOW!!! Make sure you catch the finals today, should be quite a rematch. Hoping for 6!!!

oil kings pr

The Oil Kings came into tonight fired up to play there old net minder and see how good he actually is when he faces a good team. We came out beating him 5 times tonight while the goalie we acquired from them taylor dakers only allowed 2 goals past him. Vladmir Sbotka came out tonight and scored a big hat trick against Rowat to show that no one can stop him this season. He has been on a goal scoring terror, it seems that no goalie can stop his shot anymore. He started off the season very quiet but has been unstoppable lately and is slowly but surely pulling away for point lead on the team. Cal O'Reilly since dealing ryan johnson has done nothing. Without johnson it seems to have made o'reilly not care anymore. Will we see o'reilly traded this season? if anyone is interested in him definitely send me an offer.

Saints PR

Hey everyone here is a little recap of the Saints last 12 games and it won't be a rediculous drunken rant like that DOOGIE MIC likes to spew.
Our record has not been great during these 12 games (4-5-3) and we are therefore giving Ouellet a rest (344 sog, 51 ga). This will give Bachman a chance to get in some game time.
Some high points during this period would have to be Gordon (7 G, 3 A, 8 pim) and dman Michalek (10 A, 2 pim). Tough guys that have stepped up are Brooks (1 G, 4 A 38 pim) and Hodgson (6 G, 3A, 49 pim). The scoring is being spread out but we aren't preventing too many (44 GF, 51 GA).
This team really needs to step up or I may have to dump or trade the whole lot, this seems to be my MO.
Anyways I hope things change and they turn this around.

Talkin' Smack with DMAC!!!!

Talkin' Smack with DMAC!!!!

Dougie Mac here, you guessed it...LOADED. I am tellin' ya, these Winter Ale's will knock ya on yer arse!!!

So, the PHL....another week, another pay cheque...

-The Flyers are still patting themselves on the back.....Centomo is playing GREAT!!! Chazz....you have lost SIX more game than you did ALL year last year....Point DMAC baby!!!!

-Looks like E Stall is playing great in Chicago....now if ONLY he could figure out how to get past his own blue line....Staal has been scoring at a torrid pace....but still sits at the -22 he was when the acquired him....didn't they just win back to backs 7-1??? Leafs win...LEAFS WIN!!!!

-Bruins had a HUGE week....beat the Habs with their backup playing....then LAID the wood to the Hapless Whalers....

-GAG-ne still thinks he is gonna make the playoffs...LOL!!! NO CHANCE....no lottery pick for you....your gonna miss the playoffs, and STILL be in the top end of the Waiver draft....that must be a record!!!!

-Speaking of records...The Blues are NOT the worst team in PHL history....that honor belongs to the PHL6 Rochester Americans....

AMERICANS 80 7 68 5 239 458 19 .1

-Good news for the Amerks....The Jackets SHOULD challenge for that record next year....Good Luck Mr. Colsten!!!

-Sabres brought in Arnason & Yachmenev for their cup run....WHO??? EXACTLY!!!

-Ole GMAC has a few pots on the stove, from what I am hearing the Bruins are looking to make a run....LOOKOUT!!!

I'm done....Interviewed for a job in Rexton, NB this week....Southern NB Senior League...Player Coach position....may make a comeback!!!

For NESN...this is DOUGIE MAC...aka DMAC!!!

Rental On A Roll...Stampede Stampeding!

Rental goaltender Sebastioan Centomo is doing what he was brought in to do. Win, plain and simple. Regardless of what that drunkin scribe, Dougie Mac has to say, the Flyers are up a spot in the most recent Power Poll and Centomo has only one loss since arriving in Philly. Have they made changes? You bet and after a dismal start to the season, the trades are paying off. The down side is that the Flyers are a little weak at center and Joe Thornton goes down for ten games. That being said, five left to go and Philly is still on top of the division and even with a recent loss to the Maple Leafs, GM Jazz Matthews seems confident that the team is where it needs to be. "Sure, things change. But you know the old saying...the more things change, the more things remain the same. You wanna stay on top? Make changes! Just look at all the dynasties in the NHL. They make no changes on the fly and where are they now? Montreal, Islanders, Oilers, Detroit...no changes and down they go. We're not going to stand around and hope, we act".

Now, the Central Texas Stampede are on a 6 game winning streak and rumor is that the first female coach in pro hockey, Tannis Gaylene is back behind the bench or more accurately behind budding superstar Derek MacKenzie. With Mackenzie poised to make a jump to the Bigs, he finds himself engaged to his boss. Obvioulsy the team suffered iin the begining, but seems to be on track now. For his part, Mackenzie is showing up all over the stas pages with a shot at a 50 goal season.

Whalers PR

Well it has been an interesting holiday season. With the last ten games of the Whalers not being able help me judge my trades. I know, I know, Green is doing awesome now, well good for him but he wasn't doing JACK for us. Schenn is a project for sure with 5 assists and 2 pim in the last ten. The team has gone 5-4-1 in the last ten so judging any of the players will be sort of hard. Two of the superstars of the whalers were Miller (295 sog, 29 ga) and Kerr (5 G,3 A, 27 pim). Defending our players has been the duties of Chimera (1 G, 1A, 38 pim) and Okposo (1 G, 44 pim). The players that we as an organization are disappointed with are Lavin (1 A, 4 pim) and Maroon (2 G, 3 A, 11 pim). I guess I still expect so much more from Maroon, I may have to sit him.
Due to league rules we as an organization are going to sit Miller now rather than later so that we have him for the playoff run (choke, if we are in the run).
The Whalers are still having great games against those french buggers with a win over the Nords and an overtime loss to the Habs. The one most disappointing game is the loss to our mortal enemies the the BOOINS. Our record against those Booins is 1-1-1 which is not bad considering Dougie Mac has already planned the parade and feels we will be in the lottery for first pick over all, what a joke.
As a final blurb, I just have to say that I am glad to be in the toughest division in the PHL because those other divisiions are pitiful.
Stay tuned for more news from the Whalers and Saints
