Blues Continue to Rebuild

ST.LOUIS - The Blues have been quietly rebuilding throughout the preseason considering they haven't played hockey for months. The Blues continue to build on their weak RW and D. Last year they let in the most goals and plan to change that this year as well as score the fewest goals in the league.

This year will see a promotion of Andrew Alberts from the Medicine Hat Tigers. Tim Gleason was also picked up from the Buffalo Sabres via the waiver draft and recently acquired Dmitry Kosmachev from the Toronto Maple Leafs will join Rod Langway, Brent Seabrook and Jay Bouwmeester from last year. Also goaltender Niklas Backstrom will be the No.1 goalie after a season with the Tigers. Newly drafted David Larsson will be manning the pipes on the farm for the upcoming season.

There will be a few more new faces being brought in via free agency once it opens up. The Blues do not plan to repeat as bottom dwellers for a 2nd season in a row.
