North Stars fire coach
Arriving at the midpoint of the season the Stars are not happy with their teams attitude. Terry O'Reilly has been let go half way through this season after winning the PHL cup last year. This move has sent a shock wave rippling through the locker room. Several players were not happy with this move while ofcourse were elated. Our new coach shall be John Tortorella who says he will whip these schlubs into shape or die trying. Will there be more moves in the future for this team? No doubt

Seals Snipers Setting the Scoring Pace
The Oakland Seals and Gamblers are thrilled with the play of their best players. The goalies throughout the league are not. Sophmore Evgeny Grachev leads the pro circut in scoring, while minor league counterpart Josh Hennesey has built on his spectacular post season of a year ago, to lead the minor league in scoring. With trade offers coming in for both players through the early part of the season, the answer so far has been a resounding 'NO". The Seals look forward to this one-two punch for next season and the seasons to come.

Whalers PR
Well, well, well look what happens after a week or two. The Whalers are still thumping those terrible Booins but lose to the poorly manned Habs. The head banging by GM Paul Gagne hasn't seized but has subsided a little bit.
Three rookies are leading the team in scoring and team captain, Marek Svatos is glad to be a part of this rebuild. "I believe GM Gagne is a manic genius. People thought he was crazy trading away a chance at Kadri, who is on fire, but love what chemistry this team has. I can't wait to see what he will do next" says Svatos. Svatos is also quoted as saying, "Playing with the likes of Matty and Kyle, they have definately rejuvenated my career and love for the game".
All in all things are looking good right now. Now here go the wheels, hopefully not.

Jets are jetting again on holidays. We are old enough to go to Arizona during the winter now, but only qualify for a week. Leaving Sunday Feb.13, returning Sun. Feb.20. Please stay on your toes as I may be even grumpier when I have to come back to winter. (Yes, it is possible).

North Stars struggle
It's about a quarter ways through the current PHL season and the Stars are struggling mightily. We have the same coach and roster as last season but the club is below .500 and clinging to 2nd place in the Patrick. Rumors of a big interdivisional trade have sparked the team to a 3 game win streak but it may not be enough to save coach Terry O'Reillys job if this team falls to 3rd place in the division. Either way this ream needs it's cage rattled and introducing new blood might be the only way. We got a few players here not getting it done and the list goes as follows

Blue Jackets sign Forsberg for the rest of the season
Columbus, Oh cajn-Peter Forsberg is returning to the PHL.
The former league MVP signed a $1 million prorated contract for the remainder of the season with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday. He will join the team on Monday, but it's uncertain when he will play in his first game. After practicing at the team facility and meeting with general manager Warren Colston, Forsberg was ready to sign the deal.
“Peter believes he can compete at the NHL level based on how his workouts went,” Don Cherry said. “He will provide additional leadership to our club and he will have an impact with this struggling team.”
Forsberg said he made the decision to return following a three-year hiatus before Sunday.
“I was a little back and forth,” Forsberg said. “I kind of made up my mind before practice if nothing went wrong in practice I would see GM Colston.”
He said he doesn’t think he can play Monday night, but looks forward to the day he can get into an PHL game again.
“There are a few issues that have to be straightened out first,” he said. “I’d like to play, but I’m not sure how it’s going to go. I’m here, I came here to try and it’s going pretty good. I’d like to start playing and see if I’m good enough.”
The Blue Jackets are happy to have him back.
“When he’s available to us it will be a big boost for us emotionally and a big boost in our lineup,” coach Cherry said. “He has a strong history in our organization, but we’re not doing it just for that reason. We’re doing it because we really believe that he can help us for the remaining 3/4 of the season. We all know how tight the Division is and the importance of these games.”
The 37-year-old Forsberg has been practicing with the team for two weeks in hopes of making a comeback. He wanted to determine if his chronically injured right foot could handle the rigors of the PHL. He said he had to get into game shape before he could make a decision.
“The first couple of practices were tough. Guys were flying around you and I felt like I was 47 instead of 37,” Forsberg said. “It might be the case when I get out playing, I don’t know, but it has been feeling better and better, and I came here to try and I want to play hockey. I love playing hockey. I’m not sure I’m going to be good. We’ll see when I get going.”

ST.LOUIS - It has been quite the year for the Blues as well as their farm team the Tigers. Both are near the top respectively while battling injuries after injuries. Every time they get a player back off the IR, another guy goes on it quite similar to last year. The only difference is that both teams have depth this year and still compete. At least this year the playoff spots won't be locked in the Norris/Pacific (farm) divisions by the midway point. We might actually have this tight division battle last until the 60 game mark...... maybe. But as history has shown, the second half of the season tends to be the opposite for these two teams. Will that be the case again this year?

Forsberg wont play Saturday for the Blue Jackets
COLUMBUS, Oh. (cajn)—Peter Forsberg acknowledged feeling better about his progress Friday but not enough to consider getting back into uniform for the Columbus Blue Jackets this week.
The 37-year-old Forsberg, who is considering a comeback with the Blue Jackets, ruled out any chance of his being back when Columbus plays on Saturday.
“I want to be out there and be on the ice to help the team,” Forsberg said. “If I didn’t feel that way there’s something wrong.”
Forsberg worked out with the team again, taking part in drills and even exchanging hard checks with Dan Spang, who has been pretty excited about Forsberg' return. These drills were meant to test Forsberg' reconstructed foot Spang said.
“He was rough on me,” Spang said. “Once he puts that helmet on, he looks pretty good out there.”
A year ago, Forsberg wanted to return and wear his Blue Jacket Jersey once again, but his foot was to sore for him to take the daily abuse of the PHL.
Forsberg said he would skate again Saturday morning. Beyond that, coach Don Cherry said there was no timetable for Forsberg’ return.
“I’ve seen gradual improvement every time he stepped on the ice,” Cherry said. “He will make the decision, the right decision at the appropriate time.”

FLYERS / STAMPEDE TRADE BLOCK R3
The following is the current Flyers trade block. Not all the big numbers will go, but i have put them out there to potentially move 1 maybe 2 and shake up the lineup. One of the goalies must go and my HOF goes, obviously one in return.
Preference is a like kind player or package in return. I am not moving draft picks but will take one or possibly swap in a package. You can toss in TCs if you want, but I am not really looking for them and will not consider it as much of an addition to a deal, unless they come in large quantities. Not looking for any cash.

Kariya requests trade
Oakland Seals vet Martin Kariya has requested that the team explore trade options, as he finds himself behind a number of right wingers on the depth chart this year. After drafting two right wingers in the entry draft, Kariya finds himself in the press box.
