Murray Steps Down as Captain... Its King Richard's Reign!

In a last-minute press conference in Denver today, Colorado Rockies' C Garth Murray declared he has decided to step down as Captain of the team and handed the 'C' over to RW Mike Richards. Murray stated that because of his reduced role on the team, he didn't think he would be able to lead by example as much as he has in year's past.

"Once I decided it was best for the team for me to step down as Captain, it was not obvious right away as to whom I should pass it to," explained the well-spoken Murray, "... and that's not a slight against Richy at all... its just that we have Derky in the room now (referring to newcomer and HOFer, C Bernie Federko) as well as Marty and Staalsy (referring to Radek Martinek and Mark Staal), even Manure (Mitch Maunu) is quite vocal in the room... we're fortunate to have many great leaders in that locker room."

Rockies' coach, Joey Kocur, was on hand as well. He announced that the 'A' will be spread around the team a bit this season. On any given Game Day, any 2 of Bernie Federko, Marc Staal, Mitch Maunu, Radek Martinek, and Garth Murray may be wearing a letter.

There is a press conference happening in Anchorage tomorrow, where its expected the Aces will be announcing their choice for Captain for PMHL10.

For the Colorado Complainer, this has been Nathan Livingston.
